Ebay's $60 million damage

We read this interesting article, about counterfeit goods, in the Apparel News and thought that we would share...

"A French court has ordered eBay to pay 38.6 million euros, or $60.8 million, in damages to luxury house Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton in a case over counterfeit goods sold on the online auction site. According to the suit, 90 percent of the products bearing Louis Vuitton or Dior, another LVMH division, sold on eBay are fake, eBay argued that it halts auctions after counterfeit allegations are filed."

You can often find authorized retailers by searching the brand online. Also if the price sounds too good to be true, or if the quality doesn't seem up to standards, it is a counterfeit item.
